10th Annual Equality Walk Weekend

Four Separate Locations    Same Great Event

Equality Walk Weekend is Garden State Equality’s largest annual grassroots and community fundraiser. Last year, we had hundreds of individuals in attendance and raised tens of thousands of dollars to support our critical work. This year, we are expanding our Equality Walk Weekend to a fourth location in Trenton, alongside previous locations in Asbury Park, Atlantic City, and Montclair.

Trenton • Friday, October 11 at 1 pm
Begin at Trenton War Memorial
End at Statehouse Annex Building

Atlantic City • Saturday, October 12 at 10 am
Start at Brighton Park
End at Ocean Casino Resort

Asbury Park • Saturday, October 12 at 4 pm
Begin at Kennedy Park
End at the Asbury Hotel

Montclair • Sunday, October 13 at 12 pm
Begin at the First Congregational Church of Montclair
End at Graz Park

Funds raised at Equality Walk Weekend will support the innovative work Garden State Equality is doing in the areas of policy, education, and health. Every day, our team is busy advocating for the LGBTQ community in our state and offering programs that can serve as models for other states, agencies, and organizations.

The success of Equality Walk Weekend will extend our reach in the following ways:

Education & Youth

  • Safe Schools Development: Expand work with schools and youth by providing more professional development and anti-bullying workshops.
  • LGBTQ-Inclusive Curriculum: Write, develop, and implement the first- in-the-nation interdisciplinary LGBTQ- inclusive curriculum in public schools.
  • Educators for Equality: Grow our grassroots team of 250+ LGBTQ and allied-identified educators in New Jersey to expand the reach of our safe schools programming and development.

Health & Wellness

  • LGBTQ-Inclusive Healthcare: Provide professional development trainings and resources to healthcare providers that will increase care options and create safe spaces for LGBTQ individuals of all ages.
  • Healthcare Provider Portal: Develop web portal for New Jerseyans to find local LGBTQ-inclusive providers.
  • LGBTQ Data Collection: Make New Jersey one of the first states in the country to gather comprehensive data for healthcare needs of all LGBTQ people, including older adults.
