Three Separate Locations    Same Great Event

Equality Walk is Garden State Equality’s largest annual community fundraiser. Last year, we had hundreds of individuals in attendance and raised thousands of dollars. Now in its ninth year, this year’s walk will be our biggest and best yet. That’s because, while in previous years we have hosted one walk, this year, to under score the fact that we are a statewide organization with an unwavering commitment to all of NJ, we will be hosting an Equality Walk Weekend and holding a total of three separate walks, representing the three geographical regions of our great state: north, central, and south.

Funds raised at Equality Walk 2018 will support the innovative work GSE is doing in the areas of policy, education, and health. Every day, our team is busy advocating for the LGBT community in our state and offering programs that can serve as models for other states, agencies, and organizations.

The success of Equality Walk Weekend will extend our reach in the following ways:

Education & Youth Development

  • Expand work with schools and youth organizations by providing more professional development, anti-bullying workshops, and special events.
  • Help make New Jersey one of the premiere states for LGBT youth rights and protections by improving policies, rolling out LGBT-friendly curriculum, and enhancing our Youth Caucus program.

Health & Wellness
  • Provide trainings and resources to healthcare providers that will increase and improve care options for LGBT individuals of all ages.
  • Make New Jersey one of the first states in the country to gather comprehensive data about the healthcare needs of LGBT individuals, including our most vulnerable populations, such as low-income residents and seniors.

  • Protect and further expand our track record of over 250 laws and local ordinances passed.
  • Create and advocate for policies that promote equality and justice.
